Recorded by Mrs. Emma M. Henry from her childhood's memory of the song as sung in western Pennsylvania.
King William was King James' son.
From the royal race he sprung.
Go, choose your east, go, choose your west,
Go, choose the one you love best.
And down upon this carpet you must kneel,
And kiss your true love in the field.
